Women's Track Competes at Tar Heel Classic

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The NC State women's track & Field team competed at the Tar Heel Classic hosted by North Carolina Saturday afternoon. Highlights for the women included Kristin Price winning the mile and Ebony Foster missing her own school record by 0.01 seconds in the 60 hurdles.
Junior Kristin Price brought home a first place finish for a second straight week. Price took top honors in the mile running a 4:51.82, she was also fifth in the 800 meters (2:19.54). Karen Medlin was 12th in the mile (5:21.18), while in the 800 meters Jill Nelson was 18th (2:29.02) and Liz Pardue was 24th (2:36.04). In the 3,000 meters, Janelle Vadnais was seventh (10:11.31), Leslie Jimison was ninth (10:18.35), and Claudine Hull took 10th (10:24.75). Ebony Foster just missed her own school record in the 60 hurdles, she was second running a 8.52. Leigh Neely was 24th (9.73) in the hurdles. Felicia Fant finished sixth in the 60 meters with her time of 7.64. NaSheena Quick placed 14th in the 60 meters (7.87), and 38th in the 200 meters (27.31). Adrianne Adams was 27th in the 200 meters running a 26.83.
In the field events, April Goolsby was fourth in the high jump clearing 5'03.75", and Sheena Dawkins was fourth in the long jump (18'10"). Kelly Smoke finished third in the shot put (46'03.25") and fifth in the weight throw (56'09.50").
