Men's Tennis Prepares For ACC Indoor Championships

Jon Choboy and the men's tennis team will match up against the eight conferences schools at the ACC Men's Tennis Indoor Championships starting with two rounds of singles followed by two rounds of doubles. Draws will be announced later this afternoon for the three day tournament featuring a consolation bracket and a doubles draw.
Two freshmen join the men's team for the spring semester as Val Banada and Jirou Nakajima signed out of Florida. They join three freshman who competed in the fall in Chris Mills, Will Shaw, and Rehman Esmail. Junior Jon Davis and sophomore R.J. Murray complete Coach Choboy's first Wolfpack squad.
Choboy's team showed prowess for doubles play in the fall, winning three flight championships overall and one consolation championship in two meets.
ACC Indoor Championship consolation singles play begins Saturday morning, January 18, with two rounds, followed by two more rounds of singles and doubles. The last three rounds of consolation singles play will finish Sunday morning, Jan. 19, followed by the last two rounds of singles and the doubles championship.
