South Carolina made good on a shot in the second half with 15 minutes ticked away. Senior Jessica Julin headed a ball into the top left corner for the lone goal of the match. The chance came after teammates, Camille Toney and Erica Bowie ricochet several touches off the feet of NC State in the box, finally getting the ball in the air to Julin for the score. For the Wolfpack, sophomore Annika Schmidt tried to get things started on three attempts at a score, but none of the shots found the perimeter of the net.

High Point is 1-3-1 after falling to UNC Wilmington, Sept. 15, 4-0. The Panthers hosted Birmingham Southern, Saturday, Sept. 21, as well. Results were not available at release time.
Head Coach Laura Kerrigan
"Obviously I am displeased with the results, but I thought we did an extrodinary job against a quality team. We played better with 10-5 shots, but we just could not take advantage of the opportunities in front of the net. I thought their goalkeeper made some good stops as well. South Carolina did a good job of finishing their chances. I am pretty happy though with our possessions, just disappointed we couldn't get our shots through."
