Price Takes Third in Women's 5,000 Meters

Baton Rouge, La. - For the second straight day the 2002 Outdoor NCAA Track & Field Championships were delayed an hour due to rain, but that didn't stop NC State sophomore Kristin Price from turning in a strong performance in the women's 5,000 meter finals Friday night.
Price won the 10,000 meters just two nights ago, and once again scored points for the Wolfpack with her performance in the 5,000 meters. Price finished third to earn All-American status with a time of 16:01.25 in the 5,000 meters, and her time was less than one second out of second place.
Saturday is the final day of competion at the NCAA Championships. Senior Ryan Woods will run in the men's 5,000 meters final. Senior Katie Sabino and sophomore Megan Coombs will compete in the finals of the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
