NC State Volleyball Set for Spring Tournaments

RALEIGH, N.C. - One year into her tenure as NC State volleyball coach, Mary Byrne currently has her team involved in spring workouts in anticipation of the 2002 fall season. As part of spring workouts this year, NC State will participate in four spring tournaments against outside competition. These events do not count in the Wolfpack's won-lost records.

First up will be a March 23 tourney at Duke. Last season, the Blue Devils experienced success against the Wolfpack, winning both meetings between the two teams.

After competing at Duke, NC State will be one of eight teams participating in a tournament at Wake Forest on April 6. Wake Forest, Duke, Charlotte, Appalachian State, Furman, Virginia Tech, and Davidson round out the field.

NC State's next tournament action will be April 20 at North Carolina, followed by an April 27 trip to Davidson. The Davidson tournament will include the host Wildcats, Charlotte, Elon and High Point in addition to the Wolfpack.
