Wolfpack Drops Heartbreaker to Georgia State, 4-3

Raleigh, N.C.--The NC State men's tennis team fought valiantly against the 68th-ranked Georgia State Panthers Sunday at the Wolfpack Tennis Center, but ultimately fell 4-3. NC State falls to 3-6 on the season, while Georgia State improves to 5-1 on the season.
The Wolfpack started the match strong by taking the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Senior Bryce McGrory and freshman RJ Murray were the first to tally a victory with an 8-1 victory over Luka Bernard and Pablo Perez-Gras of GSU. Senior Matt Lucas and sophomore Reinaldo Valor clinched the point by winning a thrilling match 8-6 over the Panthers' Miha Lisac and Matias Ormaza at No. 1.
The match raged on during singles play with NC State taking wins at No. 5 (Valor over Lisac 7-5, 6-3) and Murray taking the No. 6 match 6-0, 6-4 over Nicolas Lupica.
The Wolfpack will play Rice next in Raleigh on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
