Wake Forest Downs NC State Volleyball, 3-0

Led by junior rightside hitter Ashley Fisher, who finished the night with a team-best 10 kills, Wake Forest defended its home court Friday night, defeating the NC State volleyball team in three games by the scores of 30-25, 30-22, 30-22.
Freshman Adeola Kosoko led both teams in offensive performance, racking up a match-high 12 kills while posting a .333 attack percentage and five digs. Senior outside hitter Rebecca Anderson also made a key contribution for the Wolfpack, finishing with a 11 kills of her own. Meanwhile, sophomore middle blocker Maya Mapp tacked on nine kills and setter Lindi Sheppard dished out 34 assists on the evening.
On top of her 10 kills, Fisher also added eight digs for the Demon Deacons. Outside hitter Sara Beth DeLisle and defensive specialist Tawni Schulte were the backbone of Wake's defense, combining for 21 digs, while setters Ashlee Phillips and Erin Borhart recorded 29 and 11 assists respectively.
With the loss, the Wolfpack falls to 3-27, 0-12 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Wake Forest advances to 13-14, 6-7 in conference play. NC State picks up action again Saturday night with a 7:30 p.m. match at Duke.
