After dropping its last two road matches, the NC State volleyball team has returned home to close out the 2002 regular season, beginning with a 7 p.m. match with Maryland Tuesday night. The Wolfpack (3-28, 0-13 Atlantic Coast Conference) is still looking for its first conference victory of the year and is confident that homecourt advantage and a supporting crowd could help see it through its hard times.
Heading into Tuesday's match at Reynolds Coliseum, NC State is led by sophomore middle blocker Maya Mapp, who is first on the team with a .293 attack percentage and 305 kills. Mapp has also played a large role defensively for the Wolfpack, recording 75 total blocks thus far. Senior Rebecca Anderson and freshman Adeola Kosoko have also been leaving their marks lately. Anderson enters fourth on the team in kills with 186 to go with her 150 digs, while Kosoko brings 200 kills, 152 digs and 39 total blocks to the table.
Maryland (17-12, 6-8) feature two attackers with over 400 kills on the year. Outside hitters Carey Brennan and Lynnsy Jones have recorded 424 and 496 kills respectively. Brennan has also tallied 324 digs, while Jones has 237, and the duo have combined for 119 total blocks on the year. Meanwhile, setter Lindsay Davey has dished out a total of 1135 assists for the Terps.
