Duke Sweeps NC State Volleyball, 3-0

Senior outside hitter Jill Sonne recorded 13 kills, while junior Katie Gilman added 12 more to lead Duke past NC State in volleyball action at Reynolds Coliseum Friday night, 3-0. The Blue Devils won by the scores of 30-21, 30-17, 30-26.
The Wolfpack was led by sophomore middle blockers Sarah Ensminger and Maya Mapp, each of whom finished with eight kills. Sophmore outside hitter Melanie Rowe contributed with 13 defensive digs and setter Lindi Sheppard tallied 28 assists.
Gilman also recorded 11 digs, while setters Stephanie Istvan and Arielle Linderman finished the evening dishing out 25 and 20 assists respectively.
With the loss, the Wolfpack drops to 3-19, 0-4 ACC, while the Blue Devils advance to 15-5, 3-3 in conference play.
NC State will resume conference action Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum, when it plays host to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
