Tulsa, OK--The NC State men's tennis team walloped homestanding Oral Roberts Sunday afternoon 6-1 in non-conference action. The victory evens the Wolfpack's record at 1-1, while the Golden Eagles fall to 0-2 on the season.
The Wolfpack started strong by capturing the doubles point. Senior Matt Lucas and sophomore Reinaldo Valor defeated Josh Hixon and Matt Munson at #1 doubles 8-3, while freshman R.J. Murray and senior Ryan Boward knocked off Jared Welch and Duncan Fouric 9-8 (6) at #3.
In singles, NC State recorded wins by Lucas at #1 (6-4, 6-1), Valor at #2 (6-0, 6-4), Boward at #4 (6-1, 6-4), Murray at #5 (6-3, 6-1) and Shane Sealy at #6 (6-2, 6-1).
NC State's next match is February 2nd against the University of South Carolina at 1:00 p.m.
