
Gymnastics Falls at Kent State

Kent, Ohio - The NC State gymnastics team was downed at Kent State Sunday afternoon 194.300-193.050 in the Pack's second straight road meet to start the 2002 season.
Senior Kelli Brown, recently named Co-EAGL Gymnast of the Week, paced the Pack with another strong showing. Brown won the bars with a score of 9.85 and tied for second on the vault with a 9.8. She finished third in the all-around with a score of 38.850.
Fellow senior Laura Jazab finished in a tie for first on beam with a score of 9.8, her first event title of her career. Sophomore Alison Bundy looked strong on floor, finishing tied for third with a score of 9.825.
The Pack looked sharpest on the vault, notching a team score of 48.775. Along with Brown's second place finish, Stephanie Southard and Molly Pennington tied for fourth place each scoring a 9.775, and senior Aimee Panton was seventh with a 9.75.
NC State will next be in action when the Pack travels to Maryland to compete in the Governor's Cup February 2 at 7:00 p.m.
