Pack Men Lose to Richmond

Durham, N.C. - The NC State men's soccer team fell to Richmond 3-1 Saturday night at Duke's Adidas Tournament. After a scoreless first half, the Spiders (2-1-1) scored three times, against the Pack's (0-4) one goal.
Richmond's Ken Holiday struck first at the 49:15 mark after taking a pass inside the penalty box from Bret Myers and tucking it into the NC State goal.
The Pack responded in the 55th minute, when freshman Chiedu Chukwumah dribbles from his own 18-yard line and riffled a shot into the Spiders net to tie the game at 1-1.
Richmond's game winner came off a free kick at 56:32, as Myers picked up another assist when he fed Grant Dickens a pass. Dickens' shot found its way through several legs in the box, and into the Pack net. Alvara Fraile added an insurance goal with less the one minute to play for Richmond.
NC State will begin conference play next weekend, when the Pack travels to Maryland to take on the Terps Saturday at 2:00 p.m..
