Track's Bolac Sets New School Record

Raleigh, N.C. -- Junior Katie Bolac of the NC State track & field team set a new school record in the pole vault this past weekend.
Competing at the 49ers Classic, the first outdoor meet of the 2000 season, Bolac took home first place honors in the pole vault with a mark of 12'00.00" (3.66m). Bolac, who broke the school record of teammate Annemarie Clark by more than seven inches, previously posted a personal-best of 10'10" during the outdoor season. A native of Gaithersburg, Md., Bolac placed 11th at the Indoor ACC Championships in the pole vault a few weeks ago.
