On Thursday, site preparation work continued at Carter-Finley Stadium
for Phase I of the renovations to the stadium with the demolition of the
current south end zone ticket office. In addition, fencing is being
erected to surround the south end zone construction site. These
activities continue the preparation for the Wolfpack Club's official
groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday, March 4.
The ceremony will take place in the south end zone of Carter-Finley at 12:15 PM, prior to the 1:30 PM men's basketball game vs. Wake Forest. For fans interested in attending the basketball game, lower level tickets are available for $22 each by calling the NC State Ticket Office at 1-800-310-PACK.
Phase I will include replacing the grass bank by installing permanent
and club seating in the south end zone, building a new video scoreboard
behind the field house in the north end zone, and beginning the
construction of the football operations center just outside the concourse
in the south end zone.
The scoreboard and the south end zone seating are expected to be completed by the start of the 2001 season.
