Clemson Defeats NC State Volleyball 3-0

CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson swept NC State in three games in a college volleyball match Friday night at Clemson's Jervey Gymnasium, 30-15, 30-15, 30-16. Clemson improved to 8-14 overall and 3-10 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Wolfpack fell to 6-17 overall, 1-12 in conference play.
Clemson had three players hit over .350 for the match. The Tigers were led by Lori Ashton with 10 kills and seven blocks (one solo). Senior Jodi Steffes tallied nine kills and finished with a .350 hitting percentage, while senior Meredith Kirtland hit .500 for the match. The Tigers hit .250 as a team and played the nets well with 24 total blocks. Freshman Leslie Finn recorded eight kills with a team-best 11 digs for the Tigers, and junior Jessi Betcher posted a match-high 23 assists with six digs.
The Wolfpack was led by Alison Kraeger with seven kills and eight digs. Kraeger also had a match-best two service aces. Lindi Sheppard tallied 15 assists, while Sarah Ensminger led NC State at the net with three blocks.
The Wolfpack returns to action on Saturday at Georgia Tech, starting at 7 p.m.
