Wake Forest Downs NC State Volleyball In Three

RALEIGH, N.C. - Senior outside hitter Trina Maso de Moya sparked the Wake Forest Demon Deacons volleyball team Friday night, as it went on to defeat NC State in three games, downing the Wolfpack by scores of 30-24, 30-23, 30-20.
De Moya scored a double-double as she tallied up 12 kills and 12 digs to lead both teams. Sophomore Ashley Fisher had an impressive .545 hitting percentage for six kills and added five digs for the Deacons. Meanwhile, setter Ashlee Phillips racked up five kills, eight digs and 35 assists on the night. As a team, Wake Forest ended with a .147 hitting percentage, while the Wolfpack ended at .018.
For NC State, senior Alison Kreager led the Pack with 10 kills and added four digs. Charece Williams added six kills and six digs, and freshman setter Lindi Sheppard finished the match with 27 assists and five digs.
The Wolfpack drops to 5-15 overall with the loss, 1-10 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Wake Forest improves to 13-8 and 6-5. Next up for NC State is a home match Saturday night against the Blue Devils of Duke at 7p.m. Meanwhile, the Deacons travel to North Carolina to take on the Tar Heels.
