NC State Swimming/Diving Announces Awards

Raleigh, NC (May 11) - NC State coach Scott Hammond announced the 1999-2000 swiming and diving team award winners May 11.
Among the award winners were three of the team's four All-Americans - Braden Holloway, Greg Solt, and Valter Magnusson, who each surpassed the 45-point mark required to be among the Werewolf Association, a group of individuals selected by a point system that rewards excellence in the classroom as well as athletic performance. Tim Haley and Matt Brado also achieved the required mark. Senior Shelly Cavaliere, who captured the ACC title in 1-meter diving this year, won the Beth Harrell Most Valuable Award, given to the woman with the most outstanding performances throughout the year.
The NC State men had one of their best seasons in school history winning the ACC regular season crown with an overall record of 14-1 (8-1 ACC). The Wolfpack finished 21st at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. The Wolfpack women compiled a record of 10-6 (1-5 ACC) in 2000 and earned a sixth-place showing at the ACC Championships.

Beth Emery Most Improved Athlete - Bridget Bowers
(The woman who has shown the most dramatic improvement)
Pat Gavaghan Hardest Worker - Madison Snyder
(The man who demonstrated toughness in workout while constantly pushing himself)
Amy Lepping Hardest Worker - Mary Mittendorf
(The woman who demonstrated toughness in workout while constantly pushing herself)
Dan Harrian Most Valuable Award - Braden Holloway
(Awarded to a man for the most outstanding performances throughout the year)
Beth Harrell Most Valuable Award - Shelly Cavaliere
(Awarded to a woman for the most outstanding performances throughout the year)
