Volleyball Sweeps East Carolina In ACC Tournament Tune-Up

RALEIGH, N.C. - Led by four players with double figures in kills, NC State downed East Carolina in college volleyball Monday (Nov. 13) at Reynolds Coliseum, 15-6, 16-14 and 15-10.
The match was the final regular-season outing for NC State, which won for the second time in its last four matches and improved to 9-21 on the season. East Carolina dropped to 17-12 with the loss.
Junior outside hitter Charece Williams led all players with 15 kills and tied for game honors with 14 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Tara Greene added 14 kills, and junior middle blocker Alison Kreager and senior middle blocker Stephanie Stambaugh had 11 kills apiece. Kreager also had two solo blocks and eight block assists. Senior right-side hitter Meredith Price tied Williams for game honors with 14 digs.
LuCinda Mason led East Carolina with 13 kills and 10 digs. Cinta Claro had 12 digs, and Sarah Kary had 11 digs for the Pirates.
NC State returns to action in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament on Thursday at Wake forest's Reynolds Gym. The ninth-seeded Wolfpack will take on top-seeded Georgia Tech at 7:30.
