DURHAM, N.C. (Oct. 29) - The Duke volleyball team rebounded from a tough loss on Friday against North Carolina to defeat North Carolina State 3-1 in a battle of ACC foes on Oct. 29 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Freshman Krista Dill recorded 11 kills and a .429 attack percentage to lead four Blue Devils in double-digit kills. Junior Ashley Harris notched a double-double, registering 11 kills and 20 digs, to avenge the Blue Devils' 0-3 loss to the Wolfpack on Oct. 13 in Raleigh.
Duke started the match aggressively, recording an impressive .320 hitting percentage in the first game to roll to a 15-7 victory. The second game was much of the same, as the Blue Devils, who hit over .200 in every game of the match, dominated the Wolfpack, taking the game 15-10.
But N.C. State responded with a strong third-game effort, outhitting the Blue Devils and notching the close 16-14 victory. Junior Clarece Williams lead the Wolfpack with 19 kills and 11 digs in the match.
Duke regrouped in the fourth game, sealing their 16th win of the season with a 15-9 decision.
With the win, Duke improves to 16-9 on the season, 5-6 in the ACC. N.C. State falls to 7-17 overall, 1-11 in the season.
