Wolfpack Volleyball Downs Kentucky In Five Games

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 1) - Junior outside hitter Charese Williams had a match-high 22 kills for NC State, which rallied to win the final two games and down Kentucky in college volleyball action on Oct. 1 at Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack, which improved to 6-10 with the victory, won by scores of 11-15, 15-13, 8-15, 15-9 and 15-10. Kentucky fell to 4-10 with the loss.
In addition to a strong performance by Williams, NC State got 11 kills and 22 defensive digs from junior middle blocker Allison Kreager, who also had five solo blocks and three assisted blocks. Freshman setter Crystal Shannon had 53 assists, two service aces, nine digs and an assisted block.
Senior middle blocker Megan Weiskircher led Kentucky with 20 kills. sophomore defensive specialist Aleisha Craven had a match-high 23 digs, three assists and a service ace. Junior setter Whitney Sample had three kills, 45 assists and 17 digs.
