Virginia Volleyball Outlasts Pack in Four

While the first contest was close, Virginia seemed in control for the majority of the opener as it took the game 15-7.
The second game saw NC State jump out to a quick 10-2 lead. A mini 4-1 run brought Virginia to 11-4 but the Pack eventually outlasted the Hoos, 15-5.
In the third game, Virginia regained its composure as it hopped out to a quick 4-0 advantage. The Pack tried to get back into the game when it took four of the next 10 points, but the Cavaliers withstood the NC State rally for a 15-6 victory.
Game four began much as the previous one, as Virginia took an early 6-0 lead. NC State came back to pull with in 7-5 but Virginia then nailed two straight points for a 9-5 advantage. Eventually, the Wahoos toppled the Pack 15-9 to win the match, 3-1.
NC State got an excellent evening from Alison Kreager, as the sophomore nailed 19 kills and 15 digs. Kerry Bridenback added 18 digs to the NC State cause.
Virginia had a solid match from Andrea Fischer and Deanna Zwarich. Fischer had 19 kills while Zwarich banged out 18 of her own.
The Pack will next face off against Maryland in Friday. That match, set to begin at 7:30 p.m., will take place at Reynolds Coliseum.
