Florida State Tops Volleyball Squad, 3-1

The Lady Seminoles came back from a 2-8 deficit to take game one 15-12. The FSU blocking was a key to the win as Thornton recorded three solo stops in the first set. Junior Jennifer Werrick paced FSU with seven kills.
Florida State jumped to a 6-2 lead in the second game and led for much of the contest. The Wolfpack tied the game at 11 and went on to take a 14-12 advantage, but the Lady Seminoles would not back down and came back for the 16-14 win.
Game three saw NC State jump ahead 5-0. Florida State battled back to tie the game at 6-6. It would be the first of four ties in the contest. The game was locked at 13-13 and the Wolfpack closed out the scoring to take the 15-13 win.
The Lady Seminoles wasted no time in game four. FSU's Kensy Zulueta served for the first two points and following a sideout, it was Elizabeth Pound who served the ball for 13 straight points.
For NC State, Charece Williams had 12 kills and 10 digs. Aside from Thornton, three other Lady Seminoles recorded double-digit kills as Werrick had 14, Norisha Campbell had 12 kills and Erica Bunch had 10. Werrick added 16 digs for a double-double.
NC State will next play Georgia Tech on Friday, October 22nd at 7:30 p.m. That match will take place at Reynolds Coliseum
