Brian Reinhardt joined the NC State athletics department in 1999, and was named an assistant media relations director in 2001. In 2011, he was awarded the additional title of Editor/Manager of GoPack.com. In 2013, he was named Director of Digital Communications.Â
In his current role as the Director of Athletics Digital Communications, he is responsible for the daily maintenance and updating of GoPack.com, the official website for the department of athletics, and coordinating and managing informational and promotional content for 23 varsity sports. He is charged with updating general department data, and leading various digital initiatives and event coverage, and also creating dedicated landing pages and information centers for significant events and department areas.
Reinhardt is the athletic department's liaison with its host company (currently Sidearm/previously CBS), working to achieve top performance. In the summer of 2013, he was the creator and designer of 17 new recruiting microsites, and was the point-person for the Summer 2015 migration to a new service provider with a complete website redesign. Reinhardt was also in charge of a redesign of GoPack.com, which relaunched in December of 2018 and a relaunch of the GoPack App in the summer of 2020.
Reinhardt also serves as the primary wrestling contact, and the secondary contact for football. In addition, he served as the chairman of NC State's NCAA deregulation committee, charged with improving the athletics communications staff's efforts in providing recruiting websites/materials to the head coaches. He also currently serves as the game day program editor for football, a position he has held since 2004.
He was named the Division I SID of the Year by the National Wrestling Media Association for the 2018-19 college wrestling season. On twitter, @PackWrestle has ranked in the top-12 nationally in interactions each of the last three seasons (third in 2019, ninth in 2020, 12th in 2021). In 2019-20, the account ranked in the top-five nationally in interactions in three of the four weeks tracked by SkullSports, including leading the nation in interactions in one of those weeks.
The NC State football communications staff, was awarded the 2019 Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Super 11 award, designed to identify and reward the sports information departments and program that exemplified excellent media relations during the most recent football season.
During the 2017-18 academic year, Reinhardt spearheaded the efforts of developing the first NC State Athletics podcast, the #PackMentality Pop-Ins Podcast which covers the NC State wrestling team. Reinhardt serves as the host and producer of the podcast, which was the first podcast in D1 wrestling hosted and produced by a school. The podcast has featured NCAA Champions, World Medalists, MMA World Champions, a pair of WWE Hall of Famers, along with past and current members of the Wolfpack Wrestling staff and team.
During his career at NC State, he also served as the primary contact for men's basketball (4 years), men's soccer (13), wrestling (10), gymnastics (8), track & field (5), men's golf (4), and women's golf (1).Â
Reinhardt has served as the media coordinator for the 2019 U.S. Wrestling World Team Trials, assistant media coordinator for the 2014 NCAA Men's 2nd and 3rd Round NCAA Tournament, media coordinator for the 2007 Women's Basketball 1st and 2nd Round NCAA Tournament site, the 2003, 2004 and 2006 Women's College Cup, the 2005, 2007, and 2009 Men's College Cup, and the 2004 NCAA Southeast Gymnastics Regional, all events hosted by NC State. He has also gained valuable experience as a member of the media relations staff at the 2002 Men's Basketball Final Four in Atlanta, and many NCAA and ACC Basketball Tournament games.Â
Reinhardt also served on the media relations staff of the NASL's Carolina FC over various summers. He staffed all home games helping with both the media relations and marketing efforts, and also served as the official statistician. In 2022 he was also the Content and Social Media Manager for GroundhopperGuides.com, proving content for their website and YouTube page, while handling all of their social media posts.
He earned a B.S. in public relations from West Virginia University in 1999. While at WVU, Reinhardt worked for the student newspaper, The Daily Athenaeum, and was a student assistant in the sports information office as a senior.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Reinhardt married his wife Amanda in June 2018.
