Former NC State All-American Tommy Gantt joined the Wolfpack staff as a full-time assistant in July of 2023.
Coach Gantt held a close mentorship with Vincent Robinson leading up to and while winning the 2025 125 lb National Championship. In an interview just days after winning his individual national title, Robinson stated, "Tommy changed my life".Â
Gantt, a native of Belleville, Illinois, wrestled for NC State from 2012-16.Â
He was an ACC champion in 2016 (157 pounds) as well as an All-American. During his time in Raleigh Gantt was a two-time ACC finalist. In 2016 he was crowned the Midlands Champion.
Gantt was named All-ACC in 2014 and 2016.
Internationally, Gantt was a US Open Finalist in 2019. That same year he won the bronze medal at the USA World Cup. Gantt was also the Henri Deglane Grand Prix Champion and the 2018 Bill Ferrell International Champion.Â
Gantt graduated from NC State in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in social work. He also has his masters in social work.Â
