NC State men’s soccer head coach Marc Hubbard and women’s soccer head coach Tim Santoro announced the addition of Malorie Henderlong to each program’s staff on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024. Henderlong, NC State’s new assistant strength and conditioning coach, will oversee all the sports science and strength and conditioning for the men’s and women’s soccer programs.
“I would like to thank the administration for approving a dedicated person for both teams, as it marks a pivotal step in the commitment to elevating soccer,” Hubbard said. “Her expertise in soccer is crucial in ensuring our athletes are in peak physical condition while reducing injury risks and enhancing overall performance on the field.”
Henderlong arrives from Baylor, where she worked primarily with women's soccer and softball. She also served as a high-performance intern with Austin FC in Major League Soccer.
“By investing in a unique opportunity of sport-specific training and fitness plans, our players will reach their full potential and achieve excellence every day,” Santoro said. “The players and staff are really looking forward to beginning this new era with Malorie leading this part of our programs.”
Prior to Baylor, Henderlong was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at North Carolina from July-December 2021. She preceded her time at UNC as a graduate assistant at TCU, serving the Horned Frogs from January 2020 to June 2021. At TCU, she oversaw all aspects of the strength and conditioning programs for women's soccer and both cross country programs. She also assisted with daily football operations.
Henderlong, who has her CSCS and FRCms certifications, is a Crown Point, Indiana native and earned her bachelor's degree from Spring Arbor University in 2019 and her master's degree from TCU in 2021.
