Rachel Stockdale has completed 12 seasons in a recruiting and administrative capacity for NC State women’s basketball. She is approaching year 13 on staff. In October 2016, she was promoted to the position of Executive Director of Operations.
Stockdale's main focuses are the logistics of on-campus recruit visits, creating and distributing recruiting materials to potential student-athletes and communicating with and building relationships with high school coaches.
She also works closely alongside the Director of Basketball Operations in coordinating the team's travel and daily activities. Stockdale serves as the main point of contact for the team's community service and marketing efforts.
A native of High Point, North Carolina, Stockdale was a four-year guard for Hall of Fame head coach Kay Yow from 2002-07. She helped guide the Wolfpack to three NCAA Tournament appearances and was an All-ACC Freshman Team selection for the Pack.
Stockdale spent the 2012-13 season as an assistant coach at East Carolina before joining Wes Moore's staff at NC State. The Pirates fashioned a 22-10 record and made a trip to the WNIT in her only season in Greenville.
She spent the previous year as an assistant coach at Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons' 2011-12 campaign was one of the best in program history. Wake won 20 games for just the second time ever and made a trip to the postseason for the fifth time in school history.
Before arriving in Winston-Salem, Stockdale helped Elon reach new heights as an assistant coach. The Phoenix finished the 2010-11 season with a 20-13 record - the program's best campaign at the Division I level. Elon made a postseason appearance that year for the first time since joining Division I.
Stockdale and her husband, Brian, have one daughter - Charli Marie.
