Brittany K. Blunt MS, LAT, ATC, CES
Blunt joined the North Carolina State Sports Medicine Staff in August 2020 and oversees the medical care for the Wolfpack Women’s Basketball program.
Originally from Texas, Blunt’s educational endeavors started in Louisiana where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014. While at UL, she competed as a collegiate student-athlete for the Track and Field team. She returned home to Arlington, Texas to obtain a Master’s Science in Athletic Training at the University of Texas- Arlington in 2016.
Prior to joining the Wolfpack, Blunt became an athletic trainer at the University of Kansas for the Women’s Swimming and Diving team in 2016. Blunt went on to spend two seasons in Wichita, Kansas working as the primary athletic trainer for the Women’s Basketball team and Cheerleading squad at Wichita State University. Her role included additional duties such as Insurance Coordinator, Concussion Management, Supervision of Softball/Cheer Graduate Assistant, and American Heart Association CPR Instructor. In addition, she was selected to serve as a committee member of the American Athletic Conference Racial and Equality Action Group and WSU Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Blunt holds membership in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, College Athletic Trainers’ Society, and the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association. She is certified in Myofascial Decompression Technique and a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Currently at NC State, Blunt is involved in the Social Justice Group Action Committee and Girls Night In, which is a safe space of support for black female student-athlete’s to express and explore shared experiences.
