- Represented Team Germany at the World Aquatics Championships, competing individually in the 50m and 100m butterfly events
- Earned All-American honors as a member of NC State's 800 freestyle relay, which placed 7th at the NCAA Championships with a time of 6:06.95
- Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle events
- Four time ACC finalist: Winning silver in the 400 freestyle relay, bronze in the 800 freestyle relay and placing 5th in both the 100 and 200 freestyle individual events
- Secured his first individual collegiate victory at the Wolfpack Elite Invitational, winning the 200 freestyle in 1:32.79

- At the 2022 Junior Pan Pacs, the Eagle Aquatics product won a pair of gold medals in the boys’ 400 free and 400 medley relays, and added an individual silver in the 50 free.

- In addition to owning the boys’ 15-16 NAG record in the long course 100 free, Winkler also holds the mark in short course yards, having gone 41.96 in March 2023 to become the first 16 & under swimmer under the 42-second barrier.
