Monica Taylor enters her second season as Director of Operations for NC State’s softball program after graduating from Catawba College with a degree in sport management in May of 2018.

Taylor, a Weaverville, N.C., native, began her collegiate career at UNCW where she played for two seasons (2015-16). She made 33 game appearances, including 20 starts behind the plate and at third base.

She finished her career at Catawba (2017-18), playing in a combined 72 games with the Indians and turned in her best performance as a senior with a .259 batting average.

Taylor was named team MVP in 2018 and made the Dean’s List both semesters of her senior year. Her prior experience includes serving as a hitting and catching instructor for two years at Extreme Performance in Salisbury, N.C., as well as working with game operations for football and volleyball at Catawba.

She is currently pursuing her masters in liberal studies at NC State.
