As a Junior (2017): Played in all 22 matches and earned starts in nine of them… Logged 1,028 minutes on the season, including a season-high 82 minutes against Virginia… Shot twice at Florida State and once on target at Notre Dame.
As a Sophomore (2016): Started in all 22 matches as a center back…Played 1,901 minutes…Part of the defensive unit that played a key role in a four-match win shutout streak and a six-match win streak during the middle of the season…Helped the defense tally seven shootout and lower the team’s GAA to a five-year low…Played the entire match 11 times during the season

Prior to NC State:Â Played the last five seasons for club side Virginia Beach FC ... Member of the Virginia Olympic Development Program (ODP) from 2009-14 and was also invited to a US Soccer Federation camp ... While competing with the ODP, was selected to the Inter-Regional Team (2012) and the Regional Pool (2013) ... During two seasons of HS soccer (freshman and sophmore), was named to the Southeast District Second Team (2012) before earning SE District, First Team All-Tidewater, First Team All-SE Region, and honorable mention All-State honors in 2013.Â
Personal: Born Feb. 26, 1997 ... Father Carl played soccer for Howard University ... Sister Cheryl played basketball for Norfolk State University ... Can play five musical instruments ... Outside of soccer, enjoys art, engineering, and video games ... Favorite athlete is Neymar Jr.
Coach Santoro's Take:Â "Ella is a smooth and athletic player who can play any position. Adding to that versatility is the fact that she can play great with either foot. We're going to push Ella to maximize her ability because she has so much of it. She'll find a place on the field for us."
