Tyler Hotz joined NC State in August 2022 and serves as the Assistant Athletics Communications Director.
In his current role, he is the primary communications contact for the Wolfpack baseball, women's soccer and rifle.
Prior to joining NC State, Hotz was responsible for the publicity and promotion of men's basketball, men's soccer, men's tennis and rifle at UAB. In one year at UAB, he worked with head coach Andy Kennedy and the 2021-22 UAB men's basketball team that won a program-record 27 games, won the Conference USA Tournament and advanced to its 16th NCAA Tournament in program history.
Hotz helped promote star point guard Jordan Walker, Conference USA's Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Tournament MVP. Two other Blazers also earned All-Conference honors during Hotz's one year with the program.
Before arriving at UAB, Hotz was responsible for the publicity and promotion of baseball, volleyball, track and field, and cross country at Louisiana Tech. He promoted four All-Americans, three Academic All-Americans, a Gold Glove winner and five First Team All-Conference USA honorees during his time as the primary contact for LA Tech's nationally ranked baseball program.
As an undergraduate student, Hotz served as the primary strategic communications contact for baseball and field hockey at Appalachian State University. He worked two seasons with App State’s field hockey program before taking over as the primary contact for baseball in January 2020.
Aside from his work at App State, Hotz volunteered with Tennessee Athletics' media relations staff over the summer in 2017 and 2018. He also volunteered at media day events with the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Southeastern Conference during his undergraduate career.
The Knoxville, Tennessee native is a 2020 graduate of Appalachian State University with bachelor’s degrees in public relations and journalism and a minor in marketing.
