Chris started as a Data Scientist for the North Carolina State University Olympic Sports department in February of 2018. In his role, he is externally funded by LexisNexis, a developer of an open source big data software platform called HPCC Systems. Chris has developed a database within HPCC Systems to process and analyze data being collected with the men’s and women’s soccer teams and in his role, will expand services across the Olympic Sports department.
Chris Connelly has worked with the Wolfpack Strength Staff since October 2017, moving from an internship role with swim & dive and men’s soccer to his current role. Currently, he works directly with men’s soccer to analyze GPS data and provide insights to the coaching staff on player training loads and readiness to compete.
Before he came to NC State, he worked with the North Carolina Courage professional women’s soccer team in the NWSL, as well as serving as an intern at Athletic Lab in Cary, NC. Chris obtained his Masters in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Sacred Heart University in 2015 where he also ran for the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
