A key figure for State this winter … A tremendous athlete who has yet to realize his potential, he should be a regular starter in 1995-96 after serving as a reserve last year … Has impressed coaches with his off-season work ethic, especially in the weight room … One of the Pack’s most exciting players, he provided a series of the highlight dunks last season, either slicing in for an offensive rebound follow or going backdoor.
Junior Season: Saw action in 26 of State’s 27 games, all in a reserve role … Played extremely well in the latter part of the season, scoring in double figures in consecutive wins over Florida State and Duke … Averaged 4.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the year … Threw down a season-best 14 points during the Pack’s home win over Duke, making six of nine field-goal attempts and both free throws … Equaled his career high of seven rebounds against Maryland-Eastern Shore early in the year … Hit five of nine field goals for 10 points and contributed two huge blocks as the Pack defeated Florida State in Raleigh … Scored in double figures five times on the year … Improved his free throw shooting by .050 over the previous season and made his last six attempts.
Sophomore Season: A starter in 14 games, he was the Pack’s fifth-leading scorer, averaging 6.2 points … Also chipped in 3.0 rebounds and was second on the team with 20 blocked shots and fourth in steals with 22 … He scored in double figures six times, including a career-best 16 points at home against North Carolina … Was the leader of State’s win at Oregon State, scoring 14 points and hitting seven of 11 field-goal attempts … He played key roles in the Pack’s wins over Hawaii (13 points) and UNC-Asheville (12) … Set career best for rebounds with six in State’s 67-54 win over Virginia in Raleigh and six more at Georgia Tech … Handed out a career-high four assists at Maryland.
Freshman Season: Logged the fifth most minutes on the team, 472, while playing in every game … Voted onto the 1993 second-team All-ACC Freshman squad … He started seven games for the Wolfpack before moving to a reserve role at midseason … Averaged 4.1 points and 1.9 rebounds … Made 14 of 39 three-point attempts as a freshman, a 35.9 shooting percentage … Scored a season-best 13 points during the Pack’s visit to Florida State and hauled in a high of five rebounds for good measure … Was the Pack’s leading scorer with 10 points, including a perfect three for three from behind the three-point arc, against the slow-down play of Princeton … Sprained an ankle against UNC-Greensboro and missed the second half of the game … Never really regained his confidence upon returning from the injury … Had five key points, and seven total, in the final 20 minutes as the Wolfpack defeated Tennessee 74-72 … Journeyed with the ACC All-Star team during the summer of 1993 to Canada.
High School Career: Earned first-team all-state honors from the Greensboro News & Record following a senior campaign in which he averaged 24.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game … Made 43.4 percent of his field goal attempts and 63 percent from the foul line … Basketball Times ranked him as the No. 3 small forward in the country … Named the MVP of the Monroe Enquirer-Journal Holiday Classic after scoring 70 points and grabbing 31 rebounds in the three-game event … Was an honorable mention Nike/Street & Smith All-America selection as a junior after averaging 22.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.8 steals per game … As a sophomore, helped his team to a state championship runner-up finish, averaging 14 points and 6.5 rebounds.
Personal: An economics major … Born on August 2, 1974.
