A former transfer student who will be battling for playing time during the preseason … Will be slowed early in drills by off-season knee surgery … Geoff attended Appalachian State University on a basketball scholarship for two years before transferring to NC State prior to the 1993-94 season … He injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right leg in December of his freshman year and had surgery in March of 1992.
Junior Season: Began his NC State playing career after sitting out the 1993-94 campaign following his transfer from Appalachian State … Played in nine games, scoring 11 points and pulling in 14 rebounds … Scored a career-high five points against Winthrop, making his only field-goal attempt and three of five free throws … Pulled in a career-best six rebounds in the season opener against Prairie View.
