As a Freshman (2013):
- Red-shirted the season although he was listed on the depth chart and was on the travel squad.
In High School:
- Played offensive tackle for coach David Lovett, he helped lead team to an 8-4 mark and state playoff berth as a senior.
- Played in the 2012 Shrine Bowl, starting at right tackle.
- Honors: All-state selection by NCPreps.com, he was also an All-Cape Fear Valley Conference and all-region performer.
