2022 SEASON:
• The hero of the Wolfpack’s double-overtime win over UNC, in his first game as a starter, he threw for a pair of touchdowns and led the Pack to the upset win on the road.
• Also started the Duke’s Mayo Bowl vs. Maryland
• Came off the bench to play 51 snaps and throw for 201 yards in the loss at Louisville. Both were career highs.
• Has 643 career passing yards - 414 came in two games vs. UNC.
• Co-recipient of the team’s Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year Award for 2022.
• Two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree.
• Brother of Ryan Finley, a three-year starter at QB for NC State (2016-18) who finished second in school history in passing yards (10,505) and fourth in career TDs (60).
• Has already graduated but has three years of eligibility remaining.
2021 SEASON:
• Backup quarterback who saw at that position in three games, including a high of 16 snaps in the win over Furman.
• Came in and quick punted in the season opener vs. USF.
2020 SEASON:
• Came off the bench at UNC to play 33 snaps and throw for a TD. A second TD pass was bobbled in the end zone and then picked off.
• A 2020 early enrollee.
HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played quarterback at Paradise Valley High School for coach Greg Davis.
• Career stats: In his four-year varsity career, completed 620-of-1126 passes for 8,272 yards and 74 touchdowns. Averaged 212.1 yards per game, and boasted an 83.5 QB Rating. Also served as the team’s placekicker as a junior and senior. Connected on 12-of-18 career field goals and 65-of-69 career extra points.
• As a senior: Completed 123-of-198 passes for 2,119 yards and 21 touchdowns to go with a career-best 114.9 QB Rating. Served as a team captain.
• As a junior: Completed 224-of-393 passes for 2,777 yards and 23 touchdowns.
• As a sophomore: Completed 159-of-320 passes for 1,896 yards and 16 touchdowns.
• As a freshman: Completed 114-of-215 passes for 1,480 yards and 14 touchdowns.
• Rankings: The No. 13 recruit in the state of Arizona by rivals.com.
PERSONAL:
• NC State’s first commitment of the 2020 class.
• Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll two times.
• Brother, Ryan Finley, was a three-year starter at QB for NC State who finished his career second in school history in passing yards (10,505) and fourth in career TDs (60). Ryan was a fourth round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2019 NFL Draft.
• Mother, Robin, played tennis at St. Olaf College in Minnesota while father, Pat, played baseball and football there.
• Graduated in December of 2022 with a degree in business administration with a finance concentration.
