PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
College - A four-year letterwinner at receiver at Illinois (1995-98). Led the Big Ten in kickoff return yardage and also earned all-conference honors in track and field, where he set a school record in the 60-meter dash (6.74) and won a league title.
EDUCATION:
Earned a B.S. inΒ health planning and administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999.
PERSONAL DATA:
Born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on May 10, 1976.Β He and his wife, the former Heather Anderson, have two sons: Roman (5) and Maverick (born February 2020).
BOWL EXPERIENCE:
As a coach - NC State: 2018 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, 2017 Hyundai Sun Bowl; 2016 Camping World Independence Bowl, 2015 Belk Bowl; Syracuse: 2013 Texas Bowl; Minnesota: 2008 Insight Bowl, 2007 International Bowl.

- Β Β Β Has coached five current NFL players: Travis Benjamin, Allen Hurns, Kelvin Harmon, Jakobi Meyers, Nyheim Hines, Philip Dorsett, and Duke Johnson..
- Β Β Β During his career, he has mentored 18 players who have gone on to play in the NFL.
At NC State:
-Β Β Β For the first time in ACC history, NC State had a pair of wide receivers named to the All-ACC first-team in 2018: Kelvin Harmon and Jakobi Meyers.
-Β Β Β For only the fourth time in ACC history, NC State had a pair of 1,000-yard receivers in 2018 Harmon and Meyers); Harmon (98.8 ypg) and Meyers (93.5 ypg) were 1-2 in the ACC in yards per game, 12th and 17th nationally.
-Β Β Β Meyers set a single-season record with 92 receptions in 2018.
-Β Β Β Harmon finished his NC State career fourth in career catches (177) and thirdΒ in career yards (2,665)
-Β Β Β In 2017, Harmon was the first Pack WR named since 2010 to earn All-ACC honors and ranked second in the ACC with 1,017 yards- the sixth-best mark in school history and the best since 2003.
-Β Β Β In 2016, NC State ranked second nationally with five different receivers turning in 100-yard receiving games.
At Miami:
- WR Phillip Dorsett posted the ninth-best single season reception yards total in school history in 2012.
- Coached future NFL players Phillip Dorsett, Tommy Streeter, LaRon Byrd, Allen Hurns, Duke Johnson, Rashawn Scott and Travis Benjamin.
- Β Β Β Named one of the nationβs top recruiters by rivals.com in 2012.
At Minnesota:
- Mentored 1st-team All Big Ten performer Eric Decker and Ernie Wheelwright.Β
At Western Michigan:
- Coached first-team All-MAC and third-team All-American Greg Jennings, the 2005 MAC Player of the Year.
- Coached 2005 All-MAC TE Tony Scheffler.
At Stanford:
- Coached Alex Smith to first-team All-Pac 12 honors
At NIU:
- Coached second-team All-American Dan Sheldon in 2002
- Coached 1st-team All-MAC receiver P.J. Fleck, who also earned Academic All-America honors and was named the USA Today Player of the Week in 2003.Β Fleck ranks third in NIU history in career receptions, fifth in yards.
- Coached All-American Darrell Hill, aka βThe Thrill,β who won All-MAC and All-America honors.
- Coached Sam Hurd, who ranks second in school history in receiving yards.
