PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
College - Played defensive line at ECU from 1995-97, starting all 11 games as a junior and finishing with 26 career tackles. He moved to offensive line prior to his senior campaign and made nine starts at left tackle in 1998 and was named a 1998-99 National Strength and Conditioning All-American; Professional - During his NFL career, Ledford played for the San Francisco 49ers (1999-2000, 2003-04), Jacksonville Jaguars (2000), Carolina Panthers (2001), Cleveland Browns (2005) and New Orleans Saints (2006). He saw action in eight games, including one start, for the 49ers in 2003.
EDUCATION:
Earned a B.S. in exercise and sports science from East Carolina in 1999. He was the recipient of ECU football’s Jerry T. Brooks Award for outstanding academic achievement in 1998.
PERSONAL DATA:
Born Nov. 2, 1976 in Marion, N.C. He and his wife, the former Meredith Cunningham (also from Marion) have two sons, Hudson and Jordan.

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS:
At NC State:
- A 2017 Broyles Award nominee.
- Four of his five starters offensive linemen earned All-ACC honors in 2017: Tony Adams, Garrett Bradbury, Tyler Jones and Will Richardson (2nd)
- Three earned ACC Offensive Linemen of the Week honors during the season (Adams, Bradbury and Richardson).
- Tackle Will Richardson was drafted in the fourth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- NC State led the ACC and ranks second in the Power 5, allowing only 13 sacks. The Pack only gave up four sacks against ACC foes.
- The Wolfpack offensive line paved the way for back-to-back 1000-yard rusher in 2016 and 2017, the first time in two straight seasons since 1977-78.
- In 2016, Adams was a second-team All-ACC selection, while first-year center Joe Scelfo was an honorable mention selection.
- In 2016, an inexperienced offensive line (all but one of the starters was not available during spring practice) ended up ranking third in the ACC and 19th in the FBS in sacks allowed with 17 - the sixth-lowest tally in school history.
- NC State was sacked on just 3% of its 438 pass attempts in 2016 - the 14th-best mark nationally.
- The 2016 Wolfpack offensive line paved the way for the school’s first 1000-yard rusher since 2002.
At Appalachian State:
- The Mountaineers set a Sun Belt single season record with 11 wins in 2015, the team’s first full year of FBS eligibility, and averaged 257.2 rushing yards per game over his last two seasons.
- Ledford’s offensive line ranked fourth in the FBS in sacks allowed in 2015 with just 0.85 per game, and paved the way for a 271.5 yard rushing average, the sixth-best mark in the FBS.
- App. State scored 44 points or more nine times in its last 20 games.
- Three of his linemen were named to the All-Sun Belt first or second team in 2015.
At Gardner Webb
- The Bulldogs ranked second in the Big South in rushing (165.6 yards per game) and third in fewest sacks allowed (17), finishing among the top 50 teams nationally in both categories.
- Two of his players earned all-Big South recognition.
At Tennessee State
- Helped lead the Tigers to top-25 national rankings in both rushing (190.0 ypg) and fewest sacks allowed (13).
- Coached two all-Ohio Valley Conference selections.
