• Two-year starter at left guard at Fairmont State.
• Honors: Was also named to the President’s list and honors for academics. In 2019, earned first-team All-MEC and Don Hansen Super Region 1 honors for the second-consecutive season. Was also a second-team all-region selection. In 2018, earned honorable mention All-America honors from Don Hansen Gazette, the first offensive lineman from Fairmont State to do so since 1994. Also named All-MEA first-team and All-Super 1 Region second-team honors.
• 2020 at Fairmont State: Team did not have a fall season.
• 2019 at Fairmont State: Started all 10 games at left guard. Fairmont State ranked in the top-20 nationally in both total offense (13th) and scoring offense (20th).
• 2018 at Fairmont State: Started 11 games at left guard, as Fairmont State ranked 23rd nationally in rushing offense and 14th in scoring offense. Helped lead his team to a 9-2 record.
• 2017 at Fairmont State: Played in three games as a freshman.
PERSONAL
• Only played one year of high school football. He gaind 60 lbs between his freshmen and sophomore years at Fairmont.
• Father, Demetrio Zavala, is a chef who is a two-time Chopped champion.
