2023 SEASON:
• Started at right guard for the first time in his career vs. Clemson and then started there for the remainder of the season.
• Led the offensive line in Raleigh Railroads with 18 for the season.
• Highest grader on the o-line vs Notre Dame - he was in for a career-high 87 snaps in that contest.
• Also the high grader vs. VMI, earning an ‘elite’ grade. Tied as high grader vs. Wake Forest.
• Saw action at guard vs. VMI, he had four pancakes, four knockdowns and five Raleigh Railroads in that victory.
• Elite grader vs. Marshall, Duke and UNC.
• An All-ACC Academic performer.
• Semifinalist for the 2022 and 2023 Campbell Trophy.
2022 SEASON:
• Earned his first career start in the win over UConn, he started the last 10 games of the season at right tackle.
• A semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy - given to the nation’s top football scholar-athlete.
• Tallied a career-high eight knockdown blocks vs FSU.
• Led the team in pancake blocks (58) and earned some of the highest grades on the offensive line.
• A recipient of NFF 2022 University Scholar-Athlete Award.
• An Academic All-ACC performer for 2022.
• Five-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree.
• Co-recipient of the team’s Jim Ritcher Award for the team’s most valuable offensive lineman.
• Has two years of eligibility remaining.
2021 SEASON:
• Was the sixth player in the Wolfpack’s O-line rotation.
• Played in all 12 games and was in for 321 snaps on offense.
• Was limited for spring drills as he continued to rehab a foot injury.
2020 SEASON:
• Left the field with an injury at Pitt and missed the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.
2019 SEASON:
• Redshirted on the offensive line, he saw action in three games on special teams.
• Early enrollee (January 2019).
HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played on the offensive line at Wakefield High School for coach Brandon Kelley. Played his first two seasons at guard before moving to tackle as a junior and senior.
• Senior Stats: Credited with 57 knockdown blocks. Team fell in the first round of the NC 4AA state playoffs.
• Rankings: No. 32 recruit in North Carolina and the No. 32 offensive guard nationally by Rivals.com. No. 29 recruit in North Carolina and the No. 39 offensive guard nationally by 247Sports.com.
PERSONAL
• Four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree.
• NC State’s first commitment of the 2019 class.
• Brother of former Wolfpack QB Matthew McKay.
• Was only 16 years old when he enrolled in January of 2019.
• Major: Graduated with a degree in business administration in Dec. of 2022.
