Few programs play a role as essential to the continued success of NC State Athletics as Sports Medicine. The NC State athletic training rooms are staffed by an experienced team of professionals. The staff includes certified athletic trainers, full-time sport psychologists, sport dietitians and a host of doctors with vast knowledge and experience with all areas of medical expertise. This highly trained group provides injury recognition, acute injury management,injury rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
Athletic trainers at NC State develop relationships with student-athletes and possess a detailed knowledge of student-athletes' medical backgrounds before any medical or injury issues occur. This unique situation provides for an efficient and expedient flow of medical care to our student-athletes if an issue were to occur.
All care for student-athlete are delivered in a holistic manner. Sports Medicine staff are a part of an integrated team of care that includes strength & conditioning, sports nutrition and sport psychology. The collective expertise of the Pack Performance Team provides the practical knowledge and support to student-athletes in designing workout and plans that will improve their ability to excel at their sport.
