• Played at Morehead High School under Coach Earl Bates where he was a four-year varsity starter at quarterback.
• Senior Stats: Passed for 2,535 yards and 28 TDs. Rushed for 1,131 yards and 17 TDs. Also played linebacker as a senior, compiling 124 tackles.
• Honors: An all conference and second team all-area performer, he was also named his conference defensive player of the year. Graduated first in his high school class. Won the county Scholar-Athlete award
• Personal: Wrestled in high school, placing fourth in the state as a sophomore and third as a junior and senior and helping MHS win 4 state championships. Also played baseball. Twin brother Tyler plays safety for the Wolfpack.
