Dudan Dominates on way to 10-4 Victory Over Lafayette

Head's five-RBI day is the most in his career as he went two-for-four with a home run and a single. Brayden Fraasman had a three-hit game, and Dalton Bargo returned for the first time in seven games, finishing with two RBIs and a home run.
Jacob Dudan (4-0) pitched dominantly for the Wolfpack (13-2), going 6.2 innings and allowing only one run on four hits, one walk, and striking out 10 for his third straight game with double-digit strikeouts. Collins Black (1) earned his first career save after coming in in the seventh inning. Black inherited a runner on second and the tying run at the plate in a 3-1 game and got the third out on his first pitch, a fly ball to left.
The Wolfpack drew 10 walks, increasing its total for the season to 102. It marked the fourth time NC State batters have drawn 10 or more walks in a game. The Leopards threw eight different pitchers in the game.
A walk by Chris McHugh scored on a Bargo home run in the first inning, giving the Pack a 2-0 lead. This was Bargo's fifth home run of the season as he returned to the lineup after an injury.
NC State left 13 runners on base, and the team didn't score again until the bottom of the sixth after Mikey Ryan homered for the fifth time this season.
That home run was crucial as Lafayette scored in the top of the seventh when Dudan's only walk of the game came around to score with two outs after a double by Lafayette's Brandon Doubek.
The game was largely broken open in the bottom of the seventh with a four-run inning. A Rett Johnson sacrifice fly made it 4-1, followed by a three-run home run to right field from Head.
After a walk and two strikeouts from Black, the Leopards drew another walk, and pinch hitter Teddy Cashman hit a three-run homer, cutting the deficit. However, it was not enough, and the Wolfpack secured its 13th win of the season.
The series will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, March 8th, at a new start time due to weather. The first pitch has been moved up to 11 a.m. from the Doak Field, and the game will be broadcast on ACCNX.
