Robinson Places Fourth, Trumble Will Wrestle in the National Finals Tonight

CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the third season in a row, NC State wrestling will have a member of the Pack in the national finals seeking an individual championship. Tonight, heavyweight Isaac Trumble will face Yonger Bastida of Iowa State on ESPN.
NC State wrestling has had 16 finalists across all weight classes, and seven of those were in the heavyweight division. The latest champion at the weight was Nick Gwiazdowski when he claimed back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015. Gwiazdowski now trains with Trumble almost every week.

• Each have earned All-American status previously - Trumble placing fourth last season (2025) and Bastida placing fifth in 2022 at 197 lbs

Robinson Day Three Recap
After falling to Spratley in the second round on Thursday, Robinson was able to get back in the win column over the Cowboy in the consolation semifinals. His win in tiebreakers sent him to the third/fourth place match to move him up the podium. He then fell by major decision to Nico Provo of Stanford to place fourth on the podium in his second trip to the NCAA Championships. He now claims back-to-back All-American honors at 125 lbs after winning the national title last season.
