CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced its weekly Swimmers and Divers of the Week honors, with the Wolfpack placing two athletes on this week's list of honorees.
Junior Gracie Hurley and freshman Max Carlsen each earned their first ACC weekly honors of their careers.
Carlsen delivered two of the best swims of his career in the Wolfpack's matchup against Virginia. He shattered the ACC and school records in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 8:41.12. The freshman continued his standout performance by breaking the pool record in the 500 freestyle, touching the wall in 4:11.89, good for the third-fastest time in program history. Carlsen posted personal-best times and first-place finishes in both events.
Hurley also impressed with back-to-back first-place finishes on the boards, capturing wins in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events while earning NCAA Zone qualifying scores in each. She scored a 287.40 in the 1-meter and followed with a 309.23 in the 3-meter competition.
