CARY, N.C. – No. 10 Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe highlighted the week for NC State women's tennis, playing their way into the 2025 NCAA Doubles Championship after reaching the semifinals of the ITA All-American Championships at Cary Tennis Park. The run marks the second straight year that Broadfoot has qualified for the NCAA Doubles Championship at ITA All-Americans and ensures NC State will have at least one doubles team in the national championship field for the ninth consecutive season.
Seeded fifth in the doubles draw, Broadfoot and Osuigwe opened with a 6-2, 6-3 win over a duo from Rice before battling past the nation's No. 22-ranked pair from Arizona in a 10-2 match tiebreak. With an NCAA berth on the line in the quarterfinals, the Wolfpack tandem delivered a straight-sets victory over Susanna Maltby and Ange Oby Kajuru of UNC to secure their place in the national championship tournament. Their run ended in the semifinals with a two-set loss to Wisconsin's No. 39-ranked pair of Maria Sholokhova and Lucie Urbanova.
As a team, NC State finished the tournament with 14 wins across 27 matches played. Jasmine Conway opened singles play in the pre-qualifying draw, falling in the round of 256 before rallying for a three-set comeback victory over Olivia Dorner (Penn State) in consolation action. The No. 73-ranked doubles duo of Lavinia Tanasie and Mia Slama had a similar experience in pre-qualifying doubles action, falling in the round of 32 but responding with a consolation win.
In singles qualifying, four Wolfpack players competed, with No. 72 Slama and No. 88 Tanasie both advancing out of the round of 64. No. 74 Broadfoot also advanced to the round of 32 due to an injury to her opponent. Broadfoot and Tanasie then both took straight-set victories in the round of 32 that would send them to the main draw.
In the main singles draw, Broadfoot and Tanasie each reached the round of 32 after opening-round victories, adding to NC State's strong overall showing at the national event.
