KANSAS CITY, Mo. – NC State men's soccer achieves No. 1 in the country and bests its highest-ever ranking in the United Soccer Coaches poll for the third time this season.
It has become yet another historic season for the NC State men's soccer program with head coach Marc Hubbard at the helm. The new poll release today reveals the Wolfpack at the very top of the ranking system, marking the highest-ever ranking in the United Soccer Coaches poll (which began in 1996).
Prior to this season, the program's best ranking in this particular poll was set in 2018, the Pack has since landed above eighth in the country in every poll since September 3.
Sitting at 7-0-1, the team is currently having its best start to a season since 1985. Most notably, NC State is the only remaining school in the NCAA to not concede a goal.
From 1971 to 1995, the poll was conducted by the Intercollegiate Soccer Coaches Association of America (ISAA). Beginning with the 1996 season, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America assumed responsibility.
