Tallahassee, FL. – NC State tight end Justin Joly adds to his preseason accolades as the senior has been named to the 2025 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List. The Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc. announced Wednesday.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award.
This marks the third straight year the Wolfpack has had a receiver recognized on the prestigious list. Jerricho Cotchery (2003) and Koren Robinson (2000) were named semi-finalists, while Torry Holt was a finalist in 1999.
In his first year with the Wolfpack, Joly ranked second on the team in receptions with 43, and his 661 yards led the team. The tight end from Brewster, N.Y., finished the 2024 season with the fifth-highest reception total in school history for a tight end in a single season, while his yardage ranked fourth all-time for players at his position.
Averaging 15.4 yards per catch last season, it was the fourth-best mark in the FBS by a tight end.
After transferring from UCONN, Joly set career bests in plays (62 vs. ECU), receptions (7 vs. Duke), reception yards (95 vs. Stanford), and scored four touchdowns, the most of any season in his career.
The Biletnikoff Award's semifinalists, three finalists, and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 600 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners, and other former receivers. The Biletnikoff Award Winner will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 11.
