RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's cross country team is starting the 2025 season right where it left off, among the nation's elite. The Wolfpack enters the year ranked No. 1 in the ACC Preseason Cross Country Coaches Poll and No. 3 in the USTFCCCA Preseason National Coaches' Poll, as announced this past week.
During the 2024 season, the women's team placed fifth at the ACC Championships before claiming its eighth-straight NCAA Southeast Regional title. The team closed the season with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. The Wolfpack will look to build on that success in 2025, led by seniors Hannah Gapes (Rotorua, New Zealand/John Paul College, Rotorua) and Grace Hartman (Oakwood, OH/Oakwood), who were both top finishers last season.
MEN'S TEAM RANKED NINTH IN SOUTHEAST REGIONAL POLL, EIGHTH IN ACC PRESEASON COACHES POLL
The men's squad also earned preseason recognition, coming in at No. 9 in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Poll and No. 8 in the ACC Preseason Coaches Poll. The men wrapped up the 2024 campaign with seventh-place finishes at both the ACC Championships and NCAA Southeast Regionals.
