
Wolfpack Set For Sweet Sixteen Showdown Against Tar Heels

CHAPEL HILL, NC - For the sixth consecutive season, the No. 12-seeded NC State Wolfpack is heading to the sweet sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. The Pack will face off against familiar foe and in-state rival No. 5-seeded North Carolina on Friday, May 9 at 5:00 p.m. at the Chewning Tennis Center.

After defending its home courts with an undefeated 13-0 home record this season, including commanding performances in the NCAA first and second rounds against Charleston Southern and UCF, the Wolfpack is ready for its third showdown of the year against the Tar Heels for a chance to punch its ticket into the elite eight.Â
Ranked No. 11 in the latest ITA national rankings, the Pack earned the No. 12 seed in this year's NCAA Tournament. The team is led by the doubles duo Maddy Zampardo and Gabriella Broadfoot, currently ranked No. 7 in the ITA doubles rankings. This match marks the 65th all-time meeting between the two programs. In its most recent encounter, the Tar Heels defeated NC State 4-1 in the ACC Championship semifinals just last month.
